Visual Elements
Line: For these pictures, I chose objects that had obvious straight lines. The vertical lines of the bench, the square of the sidewalk, and the the little squares of the ceiling.
Shape: For all of these pictures I found repeating circles in each. The first is a circle pattern found posted on a wall, the second is round bike racks, and the last is a spherical fountain around circular bushes.
Color: This was the easiest to find because color is everywhere. I wanted to find the brightest ones and this is what I found. The first was the bright blue sky and dark green trees that day, the second is hot pink flower, and the last are different shades of red from the telephone booth, building, the OU flag, and fire hydrant.
Value: This one was a little harder to find drastic value outside. So for this I found two statues and a pot. The statues were obvious because they have very light spots and very dark spots from where it bends and dents. For the pot, the value was from the painting. In some places it looks blue and others it looks black.
Form: This was easy to find but I chose to find some man made and some natural. For man made, I found a concrete table and a sculpture. For natural I found a tree. All three of these take up space and are therefore some type of form.
Texture: For texture, I found three rough surfaces. The first is a concrete wall, the second is a bumpy sidewalk, and the last is an uneven concrete garden wall.
Space: This was something that was hard to find in nature so I found three images that portray it well. I’m each image or painting, it appears as if you can reach right into it. A space was created from a two dimensional space.
